IBM Cards and Vintage Tech

Still have a box of punch cards from grad school data analyses--brings back memories of submitting "jobs" at the computer center (hoping no typos) and waiting (and waiting) for print-outs.

An Atari 800 is boxed in the garage with game cartridges (e.g., Pac Mac, Donkey Kong, & Star Raider) and joysticks. Looking forward to a classic game day...

Wish I had the Apple // Plus from my research lab (still booted when returned to "property" in 2008).

CRT terminal in my first CSUF office (connected to the main-frame via modem). Remember "dot" command?

Maddie plays iPad (Piaget never anticipated this or did he…)

Maddie starts a movie, after a few minutes she pauses the movie and switches to her alphabet game. After selecting a few letters, she switches back to the movie (via the "home" button, "video" icon, and "play" arrow). Now, its back to the alphabet app--a sequence replayed over and over (including screen orientation "play"). Quite wonderful how our three-year-old granddaughter plays the iPad. And, guess what she calls the iPod Nano? ("Baby" iPad; of course…)

Over 100 members attend monthly meetings (www.hbartleague.com). An invited artist presents on "methods" and judges art work (one per category; e.g., watercolor, oil, photo, etc.) displayed by members. Judy is a long time member and holds "Masters" status due to her numerous first place ribbons and "best of show" award. Judy encouraged me to join--fun times!
