Festival of Cranes at the Bosque del Apache


The annual Festival of Cranes was canceled for a second consecutive year due to the Covid-19 pandemic. We hope 2022 will find us back at the Festival. A Bosque Day, composited with photos from our previous trips, captures some of the excitement and beauty we've experienced.

Postscript: Our favorite restaurants near the Refuge are the Buckhorn in San Antonio and Frank and Lupe’s in SocorroTruth or Consequences is a short drive South. The Sierra Grande Lodge & Spa (now owned by Ted Turner) includes an exceptional restaurant and offers eco-tours of his Ranches. If you keep driving South add the Bear Mountain Lodge for an overnight or two.  Some photos:
